The Snugg

We have yet another relatively new company arrising that I seem to be enjoying a lot. Check out some of the reviews coming in the future..

Apex Armor

I'm trying to get a 6th Generation iPod Nano on hand so I can finally review the IKONIC case by Apex Armor, famous for their billet aluminum iPhone 4 cases.

iTimber Case

I know I reviewed this case a while back, but it's still one of my favorite cases of all time. It's one of the most high quality cases I have ever tested.

Adonit Writer for iPad 1 & 2: The Aluminum Keyboard Case

DSC_0060

Keyboard cases for the iPad are starting to become a dime a dozen nowadays. There are dozens available on the market, and to be completely honest with everyone, they all share the same basic design and features. Adonit’s new Writer for the iPad 1 and 2 looks completely different from the ones that I am used to seeing and looks a lot cooler than any other keyboard case that’s available on the market today. So, can Adonit really reinvent the basic keyboard case? Let’s take a deeper look and find out.Read More

The Snugg Leather Case & Flip Stand for the iPad 2: Functionality Meets Simplicity

DSC_0042

I’ve reviewed a lot of iPad 1 and iPad 2 cases over the past year, and while I have had a lot of amazingly designed cases come along, I haven’t found one that simply amazes me and keeps the price at a very wallet friendly tag. The Snugg Leather Case & Flip Stand for the iPad 2 (albeit a pretty generic name at that) is about to change all that. The Snugg has designed what may possibly be one of the best cases that I have ever used for the iPad 2. Don’t let the simplistic looks full your eyes, because this case has a few tricks up its sleeve.Read More

Padacs Rubata 2: The iPad 2 Keyboard Case

DSC02667

We’ve reviewed some of Padacs products before, and were quite impressed by some of their offerings. Their success was designed, in my opinion, on two things, quality accessories at a very affordable price. This was proven with the PowerCase for the iPhone 4, which combined amazing performance with an outstandingly low price, nearly half the price of it’s competitors. Today we will be taking a look at one of Padacs’s steeper tiered products, the Rubata 2 Keyboard Case for the iPad 2, which combines a folio type case with a nice and nifty keyboard that you can take on the go. Let’s take a closer look and see what this case is all about.Read More

CaseCrown Royal Standby: The First Vertical iPad 2 Folio

DSC01604

I have always been a huge fan of folio style cases for both the iPad 1 and the iPad 2, and when I saw the new CaseCrown Royal Standby Vertical Folio for the iPad 2, I immediately wanted to test one out. There isn’t a huge need for an introduction here, as you should already know by now who CaseCrown is from my previous review, like the Chameleon Glider for the iPhone 4. If you don’t know who they are, they make all kinds of cases and accessories for iDevices and stand out from the crowd by adding a little flavor and uniqueness to their entire line up. The CaseCrown Royal Standby Vertical Folio for the iPad 2 features a ton of different design elements and add ons. The most apparent being the fact that unlike some of the other folio cases available on the iPad 2 market, the CaseCrown Royal Standby Vertical Folio for the iPad 2 showcases a vertical position instead of horizontal. Pretty neat if I do say so myself. Catch the full review after the break!

Vaja Libretto : Expensive Leather for the iPad 2

DSC01420

Vaja is known for making some of the best leather cases for the iPhone, iPod & iPad, so really there isn’t a lot that needs to be said. There one of the most popular (if not the most popular) leather case makers that the iDevices market has come to known. I was lucky (very, very lucky indeed, thanks Vaja for the review sample) enough to get my hands on their new line of iPad 2 cases, one of which is called the Libretto for the iPad 2. The Libretto comes packed with a plethora of different features. Very much like the Apple Smart Cover, the Libretto features a front cover similar to a folio that incorporates the sleep and wake function. The leather is made of Vaja’s exclusive floater leather that feels very soft in the hand. Lastly, the case equipped a small stand on the back that supports two modes just like the Apple Smart Cover. So, does the Libretto have enough high end quality to cover the expensive price tag? Read on for the full review to find out!Read More

Interview with Draco Design about the new DRACO IV case for the iPhone 4

page2_sidebar-01

Q: Considering other aluminum cases cost in the $70-$150 range, what will be the retail price of the Draco IV aluminum bumper for iPhone 4?

A: The DRAVCO IV comes with 6 different colors: blue, black, red, gray, silver and gold. Blue, black, red and gray colors are retail for $99. Silver and gold colors are limited edition with retail price at $119.

Q: So many aluminum cases found on the market today suffer from signal loss (with the exception of a few), what's the mechanism you have used for minimizing or terminating signal loss in the Draco IV?

A: We considered and studied how to reduce signal loss issue when developing and designing the DRACO IV case. So, when the DRACO IV is installed on the phone, the case frame is designed to mount (hold) to the glass surfaces of the phone both front and back, without physically touching the metal band on the side of the phone. And that’s the key to minimize signal loss issue.

Q: Does the Draco IV have support for other third party accessories, such as headphones, third party cables, etc?

A: Yes, the DRACO IV is designed with compatibility and flexibility, so the case supports for 3rd party iPhone 4 accessories.

Q: Will you be able to dock the Draco IV in third party docks?

A: Yes, the DRACO IV can be docked in 3rd party docks.

Q: How much lip does the case provide (lay on the table design, screen not touching the phone, only the case) on both the front and the back of the phone?

A: About 1mm on both front and back.
