iTimber Case

I know I reviewed this case a while back, but it's still one of my favorite cases of all time. It's one of the most high quality cases I have ever tested.

IDAPT i4 Universal Charger: The Be-All End-All Charger

DSC_0414

Chargers come a dime a dozen these days, and with so many cables and devices to juice up, will there ever be a perfect solution for everyones individual charging needs? IDAPT, makers of some of the smartest chargers I have ever laid eyes on, are about to change that with the i4 Universal Charging Station. Three charging slots, a USB opening, hundreds of interchangeable charging tips, and an absolutely breathtaking design. The i4 seems like the perfect charging station, but can IDAPT finally fill the void? Read on for the full review of the IDAPT i4 to find out.

The Design
As said in the above paragraph, the design of the i4 is absolutely stunning. The plastic front, despite being an absolute fingerprint magnet, retains a very sleek and simple design due to the three tips slots on the top of the i4, as any additional slots would’ve taken away from the aesthetics. It features an almost TRON inspired cube perimeter that features a USB slot on the right hand side for charging say an iPad, Nook, or Kindle. The back of the IDAPT i4 features a cable plugin to wall plug in for running the i4. The top, which again is one of the most sleek and simple designs I have ever seen, features three tip slots, rubber buttons for taking out the charging tips, a on/off switch for power saving, and lastly, IDAPTS logo in the bottom right hand corner.

Hundreds of Charging Tips
IDAPT said themselves that families usually buy a new gadget every 6 months, so it’s nice to see that IDAPT will have your back when it comes to your charging needs throughout the years. While I have a USB Mini, USB Micro, & iDevice tips, IDAPT sells a lot more that are available on their website which is constantly being updated as new devices come out. Whenever you get a new gadget, just pop out one of the tips, put in an updated tip, and you’ll be set and ready to go. lastly, the tips are held in place very firmly, and while I am not a huge fan of the devices relying on the tips support (I would have preferred a structured back), the tips actually do a very good job of keeping my gadgets firmly in place.

Charging Rate
The charging rate on the i4 from IDAPT is exceptionally well suited to fit everyone’s need at a rated 13 watt output. It doesn’t slow down the charging process, and actually works just as fast, and if not faster, than a regular USB cable. My iPad, iPhone 4, and HiSound Audio Studio-V can all charge gloriously fast without the IDAPT breaking a single sweat, and as always, if you want to save a dime or two on the electricity bill, go green and turn the power off on the IDAPT when not in use.

Final Thoughts
I’m very impressed with the IDAPT i4. To put it simply, the amount of customization with various tips, the unique design, and the velocity of the charging time all make for a great charging solution under $60, and it may as well be the end-all solution for anybody’s charging problems, which is why I am proudly awarding it the On The Edge Apps Editors Choice award. The i4 is available from IDAPT’s website for $59.99 and is available in white, black, orange, green, pink, and comes with a plethora of customizable tips.

Interview with Draco Design about the new DRACO IV case for the iPhone 4

page2_sidebar-01

Q: Considering other aluminum cases cost in the $70-$150 range, what will be the retail price of the Draco IV aluminum bumper for iPhone 4?

A: The DRAVCO IV comes with 6 different colors: blue, black, red, gray, silver and gold. Blue, black, red and gray colors are retail for $99. Silver and gold colors are limited edition with retail price at $119.

Q: So many aluminum cases found on the market today suffer from signal loss (with the exception of a few), what's the mechanism you have used for minimizing or terminating signal loss in the Draco IV?

A: We considered and studied how to reduce signal loss issue when developing and designing the DRACO IV case. So, when the DRACO IV is installed on the phone, the case frame is designed to mount (hold) to the glass surfaces of the phone both front and back, without physically touching the metal band on the side of the phone. And that’s the key to minimize signal loss issue.

Q: Does the Draco IV have support for other third party accessories, such as headphones, third party cables, etc?

A: Yes, the DRACO IV is designed with compatibility and flexibility, so the case supports for 3rd party iPhone 4 accessories.

Q: Will you be able to dock the Draco IV in third party docks?

A: Yes, the DRACO IV can be docked in 3rd party docks.

Q: How much lip does the case provide (lay on the table design, screen not touching the phone, only the case) on both the front and the back of the phone?

A: About 1mm on both front and back.
